Management as profession

A profession is an occupation during which an individual has knowledge and training about his occupation and there are restrictions for entering a specific occupation or profession, you would like a degree or formal education.
Now there are certain features of occupation in management also let’s discuss them in details:
1. Organized body of knowledge:
Every profession has organized body of data meaning they need their own theories, concepts, rules, and training.

In management there's also organized body of data . so as to form management as profession an individual can get training and study management from institutions like IIMs.
2. Entries are restricted:
In order to enter any profession, the entry is restricted by an exam or degree. E.g. CA’s got to undergo a specific exam so as to become a CA.

But in management you don’t need a degree to become a manager. regardless of your degree or knowledge you'll be appointed manager if you've got good skills.

3. associated with professional associations:
All professionals are associated with some association e.g. CAs are associated to ICAI, lawyers are related to Bar council, doctors associated to medical council.

These associations grant certification to professionals, regulate the profession. they need code of conduct and every one professionals are required to follow them.

As in Management (AIMA) All India Management Association regulate management professions but it's not necessary to be the a part of this association.

4. Code of conduct:
In every profession there's code of conduct like Lawyers need to wear black while on duty, doctors are required to wear white. But in management no such thing is vital .

A manager isn't abiding by any kind of code of conduct. A manager can work the ways he like unless and until he's ready to bring profits to the corporate

5. Service motive:
In all professions like CA’s, Doctors, Lawyer provide best service to their clients for a fees. There motive is to form sure their customer is satisfied.

But in management managers only goal is to earn profit for its business and keep his business going. But in today’s businesses thanks to huge competition businesses are that specialize in providing best service to their customers to draw in them.
Conclusion: Not all features of profession are available in management. So we will say management isn't fully a profession.
