7 important principles of Henry Fayol
Division of work:
This principle of management states that employment should be divide between employees. One employee cannot perform all the work himself.
Dividing the work between employees can make an employee concentrate on his work because performing one and therefore the same work again and again makes him special therein .
Benefits for applying this principle:
1. It results in specialization of labor .
2. It reduces the burden on employees.
3. It increases production and reduces overlapping of labor .
Demerits not for applying this principle:
1. there'll be no specialization among employees.
2. The burden of employees will increase.
3. Employees will comment mistakes due to heavy burden.
Authority and responsibility:
Authority means giving powers to employee for completing the work , Responsibility means providing employees with tasks/jobs which must be completed within a deadline .

Henry fayol said that if any employee has been given a task (which means responsibility). the worker should even be given correct quantity of power(Authority) to finish the work . He shouldn't face any problem while completing his job.

If employee has been given more authority, he can miss use that and if he has been given with more responsibility he cannot complete his job. So authority should tend as per the responsibility.
Benefits for applying this principle:
1. Employees are going to be ready to complete their job on time
2. Employees can receive compensation for completing their job
3. It reduces the miss use of power
Demerits not for applying this principle:
1. Miss use of power by employees.
2. Employees won't be ready to perform their tasks.
Discipline:
Discipline means following the principles and regulations of the organization. Discipline is extremely important within the organization. so as to possess good discipline within the organization there should be good discipline in the least levels of the organization, clarity of rules, rewards and punishments also .
E.g. If organization decides to supply compensation to those employees who perform better then organization should keep their promise and supply compensation to employees for better performance.
Benefits for applying this principle:
1. Efficiency of the workers increase when there's proper discipline within the organization.
2. Resources of the organization are going to be properly used.
Demerits not for applying this principle:
1. Lack of discipline will cause chaos and confusion within the organization.
2. there'll be delay within the work due to lack of discipline.
Unity of command:
This principle of management states that a sub-ordinate/employee should get order from just one boss. If an employee gets order from two bosses it'll create confusion among the worker on whom to obey and he won't be ready to complete his task.
Benefits for applying this principle:
1. Job done on time as there's just one boss
2. As there's one superior and one sub-ordinate so there'll be no confusion and conflict
Demerits not for applying this principle:
1. Delay in work as sub-ordinate is in confusion
2. there'll be disloyalty as sub-ordinate are going to be ready to complete the task of 1 superior only.
3. Conflicts among superiors.
